Did i reject him w/o even knowing?

so i went on a few dates w/ this older guy, he's 32. i like him a lot. he's respectful, very much like a gentleman. sometimes i am unsure to be flattered or act casual with him because i admit, ive gone out w/ boys my whole life & they were all lazy daters. so one day, while we were walking, he said "i should take u out to dinner. let me take you to dinner." i basically shrugged it off, saying 'oh u dont have to.' he didnt say anything but he was still nice to me. so after that, i guess u can say he never asked me to go any where w/ him and even stopped texting me to see how i was doing. we still hung out afterwards & were intimate but i could tell he stopped trying to "woo" me. yes the chase felt over but did i also rejected a date w/o knowing & could that have played a part to his nonchalance towards me now?
